THE HOUSE

The house and the adjacent cottage are designed in the style of a colonial country bungalow with sloping roofs, decorative 'monkey tops' and wide verandahs from where one can enjoy spectacular vistas of Mussoorie and the surrounding hills.

Each room is individually designed, elegantly furnished with beautifully restored period furniture, and decorated with antique fittings and rare prints of flora and fauna. All rooms offer air-conditioning in summer and heating in winter.

The house has appeared in several national and international magazines, periodicals and books. All the seven bedrooms have attached baths, running hot and cold water, and are equipped with modern amenities. A formal sitting and dining room is available to the visitors. A separate private sitting room completes the setting .

Jungle Lore Birding Lodge & Kafal House, pangot

Pangot is small village 15 kilometers from Nainital, the drive takes only 25 minutes to get there. The entire drive is through the forested area of Cheena Peak Range via Snow View Point and Kilbury, the main habitats for excellent birding.
One can see a variety of Himalayan species along the way such as lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant, variety of thrushes etc. Almost 150 bird species have been recorded at Pangot and surrounding areas.The numerous perennial & seasonal creeks are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna including the leopard, yellow-throated Himalayan martins, Himalayan palm civet, ghoral, barking deer, sambhar etc

Location

Jungle Lore Birding Lodge & Kafal House lie 15 kilometers away from Nainital in Pangot. Nainital, Kilbury and Pangot have the richest oak, pine and rhododendron forest in the area. This green belt supports an enormous variety of Himalayan birdlife. More than 580 species of birds have been recorded in this belt. The lodge and the house have 10 tastefully designed Himalayan style cottages & rooms.

Located 85 km away from Kathgodam railway station & 90 km from Corbett National Park.. The lodge is well furnished with all modern amenities, a kitchen where one can avail the services of our accomplished cook or opt for self service. One can get magnificent views of the Himalayas from the lodge itself

About the place

Trishul lodge is located in Majhkhali in the state of Uttaranchal in India. It is just 10 km from Ranikhet and 5 km from the golf course. The lodge has 3 rooms and two toilets with running hot & cold water. The cottage has a fireplace and heaters are provided in each room in winter.
There are two rooms on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The rooms on the ground floor are independent bedrooms with twin & double beds and the one on the first floor has a double bed and one additional bed. There are two bathrooms with hot showers. The kitchen is fully equipped and the cook excels in delicious & hygienic meals.
Fresh towels, bed sheets, and soap can be requested any time. Laundry service is available on request.
If needed, we can arrange another cottage adjacent to us that has 1 room and an independent kitchen.

Activities

Golfers could play in one of the best golf courses in the Himalayas. One can take long walks or visit the village to observe the lifestyle of the local hill folk. One can also visit the war museum in Ranikhet. The Trishul Lodge is a good base for travellers who wish to visit nearby places such as Sheetlakhet, Chaubatia gardens, Jageshwar, Almora etc.

Sat Tal Birding Camp

Located 29 km away from Kathgodam railway station & 18 km from Nainital, this deluxe camp has 5 tents with ensuite facility. The camp has local village character overlooking a wooded valley.
Camp offers five Swiss cottage tents with en suite facilities. The camp is well furnished with a kitchen where one can avail the services of our accomplished cook. The place is excellent for birding and nature treks.
The camp is flanked by pine and oak forest. Little dip pools attracts various species of birds.
This is an ideal base for birders, nature enthusiasts, walkers and the visitors wishing to explore Sat Tal and surrounding area.

Sat Tal (1350mt.): Sat-tal is an ideal all-season camp. And because it's a mere 7 hour drive from Delhi (or a comfortable overnight journey by train), escaping to Sat Tal is easy.

Abbott Mount Cottage is located 165 km away from Kathgodam railway station & 9 km from Lohaghat, this colonial style lodge offers four rooms. The lodge is well furnished with independent (not attached) toilets, a kitchen where one can avail the services of our cook.The place is excellent for birding, Himalayan views and nature treks. This also serves as a base for anglers who wish to fish Mahseer at Pancheshwar, a confluence of Saryu and Mahakalirivers.
